Marian Court College seeks Full-Time Assistant Director of Admissions

Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Admissions actively supports and contributes to the recruitment and enrollment of new students, from generating and responding to student inquiries to assisting with the enrollment of new students in both day and evening programs. The Assistant Director provides outstanding customer service to all Marian Court constituencies including inquiring students, families, guidance counselors and teachers. The Assistant Director also represents Marian Court College at student recruitment fairs and recruitment visits to high schools, alternative schools, adult basic education centers, and ESL centers.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required; minimum of 2 years of admissions and higher education recruiting experience. The candidate must have excellent writing and speaking communication skills. Local travel, evening, and occasional weekend work required. Must be comfortable with the use of technology for communications and have previous experience with admissions management systems.

Essential Functions:

The Assistant Director of Admissions will communicate extensively with prospective students through on-campus interviews, school visits, electronic messaging and phone calls throughout the enrollment process. The Assistant Director will be comfortable working with and advocating for first-generation college students and students of academically “non-traditional” age and background, and will be able to explain the structure of higher education in the U.S. and its opportunities for any potential student. The Assistant Director will lead tours of the College and supervise Student Tour Guides.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree appropriate to the teaching field required; doctorate preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a culturally diverse student population, and that reflect a commitment to encouraging the success of all students. We also seek candidates who have relevant experience and/or a record of professional engagement with groups and communities underrepresented in the academy. They should also have the ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to higher education.
