This month we are featuring Joan Thompson, faculty member and chairperson of the Business Department at Marian Court College.
With over forty years of teaching at Marian Court College, Professor Joan Thompson cherishes the opportunitites to nurture and empower her students, both intellectually and emotionally. In addition to teaching Professor Thompson is Chairperson of the Business Department, Transfer Counselor, and Director of Student Activities.
Whether it is aiding a student in the transfer process, organizing a trip, or coordinating an international supper, Professor Thompson's focus is always student centered. If you see a group of students, chances are she is also with them . . . laughing, talking, singing, or even dancing! Her commitment to her students did not go unnoticed, and Girls Incorporated of Lynn honored her for her concern for others and her shining example for all young women to follow.
As a breast cancer survivor, Professor Thompson volunteers her time and talents to the American Cancer Society. Her community-based services were worthy of her being selected as North Andover Citizen of the Year.
Realizing that education is a life-long experience, Professor Thompson will be completing her degree requirements in May 2008 with a Masters in Business Administration
