Home Healthcare Aide
Home Healthcare Aides assist patients in their homes by focusing on their specific health and personal needs. Emphasis is on giving personal care in a client's home, communications, working with ill persons, basic human needs, eldercare, nutrition, special diets, and home management. Home Healthcare Aide’s also work in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, home care, long term care facilities, hospice and assisted living facilities. 

Detailed course topics and review include: the role of the home health aide, client relationships, infection control, hospice care, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, dressing and personal grooming, foot care, nutrition and other relevant topics. In addition to the responsibilities of a Home Healthcare Aide, this program will prepare students to sit for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (or the “NAHC”) “Home Care Aide Certification” examination through the NAHC’s Homecare University Program. Patient Care Technician
Patient Care Technicians work in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, long term care facilities, physician offices and assisted living facilities. These professionals must possess the technical skills necessary to service complex patient care issues including: rehabilitation services, diagnostic tests, basic bedside care, collection of laboratory specimens, Phlebotomy and EKG’s. In addition to labs requiring a student to practice and demonstrate EKG, Phlebotomy and base line nursing skills, lecture topics of this program include: medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and miscellaneous patient care concepts. Other topics include: HIPAA; vital signs; patient care; personal hygiene and grooming and aseptic technique among others. This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Health career Association (NHA) - Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT); Certified Nurse Technician (CNT); and/or Certified Patient Care Associate (CPCA) national certification exams. Pharmacy Technician
This comprehensive 50 hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings - working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement. Click here to learn more.

Phlebotomy Technician
This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis.  Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.  Note: There is no outside externship rotation included with this program. Click here to learn more.

Physical Therapy Aid
This comprehensive 50-hour Physical Therapy Aide Program prepares students for the growing field of Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy Aide is generally responsible for carrying out the non-technical duties of physical therapy, such as preparing treatment areas, ordering devices and supplies, and transporting patients working under the direction of the physical therapist. Furthermore, these workers assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Physical Therapy Aides may be employed in nursing homes, hospitals, sports rehabilitation center and some orthopedic clinics.   Note: This program does not include a national or state certification as part of its overall objectives.
