Athena: This is the library’s computerized catalog. It contains descriptions of the print holdings of the library with a direct connection to Internet sites also described in the catalog. Athena may be only be accessed from on campus at Marian Court.
Online Databases: The following databases are available to you. Please contact the librarian for passwords to access these online resources.
EBSCO Literary Reference Center: The Literary Reference Center is a reference database that provides detailed information on the most studied authors and their works. It combines information from over 1,000 books, major literary encyclopedias, reference works, and literary journals.
SIRS: An excellent resource for virtually all term papers, SIRS is designed to meet everyday research needs of both students and faculty. SIRS provides full-text articles, written by experts and respected journalists, on current events and social issues from over 1500 different periodicals.
ELibrary: An ideal place to begin your research, Electronic Library provides a diverse assembly of maps, pictures, and full text magazine and newspaper articles in addition to complete electronic encyclopedias and several books. With strong subject concentrations in health and business, business and sports management students will find many articles and resources in ELibrary. Some content is also available in Spanish.
Proquest: Proquest provides a collection of U.S. and International criminal justice journals including information for professionals in law enforcement, corrections administrations, drug enforcement, rehabilitation, family law, and industrial security.
Loislaw: LoisLaw provides criminal justice students with easy access to the full-text of primary laws (searchable by the type of law or the jurisdiction), secondary laws, and public records.
Infotrac: Infotrac contains several individual databases with a wide variety of information ranging from general studies (i.e. Expanded Academic Index) to specific topics (i.e. Health Reference Center). You may search each database individually or, for a greater number of results, select the “Select All” button at the top of the page after logging in to search all of the Infotrac databases to which Marian Court has access.
